Problems of displaced persons are in focus of attention of Stavropol Territory's public
A round-table discussion on migration policy issues took place in Stavropol on the basis of the Stavropol Agrarian University on October 6. The discussion was held by the Stavropol Regional Public Foundation "Assistance-South".
Officials of the territorial migration service, placement service, ministry of labor and social protection, experts-sociologists, and members of emigrant and human rights non-government organizations were participants in the discussion.
Results of the migration situation analysis that was carried out in Stavropol Territory's Spakovsky district were reviewed during the discussion. This district has the largest number of displaced persons living on its territory. 86% of the migrants who were questioned stated they did not want to return to their former places of residence. 97% of the migrants suffer from lack of accommodations for permanent residence, encounter difficulties while trying to get jobs.
The conducted round table gave a new stimulus for cooperation of all interested persons and agencies in finding solutions to the problems posed.
