"On all of them, employees of the office gave both oral and written explanations. Out of 274 written applications taken to consideration, in 67 cases broken citizens' rights were restored after interference of the Ombudsman," the office have commented the situation.

If we analyse the dynamics of applications in comparison with 2008, we see insignificant fluctuations depending on the topics thereof. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the office that citizens mainly complained of actions or inactions of state bodies, local governments and officials, actions and inactions of law-enforcement bodies, and unfair court judgements.

Most often, the Ombudsman was addressed with regard to violations of citizens' social and economic rights.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was explained at the Ombudsman's office that "recently the republic sees a positive trend towards more efficient interaction of the Ombudsman with the bodies of state and local administration in defence of human rights and freedoms, and in legal enlightenment of the population."

In particular, the process is promoted by the board of experts created at the Ombudsman.
