Yaraliev: Dagestan authorities hamper enforcement of judgement on Derbent election
One of the candidates to the post of Mayor of the city of Derbent, former public prosecutor of Dagestan and now the head of the Suleiman-Stalskiy District Imam Yaraliev has expressed his satisfaction with the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Dagestan (RD), according to which the outcomes of the election in Derbent were nullified.
The editorial board of the "Caucasian Knot" received Yaraliev's statement running that the republic's officials have exceeded their service powers and interfered with execution of justice.
In his opinion, the decision of the Supreme Court of Dagestan to nullify the election of Mayor of Derbent "was apprehended by the public as restoration and victory of justice and an opportunity to solve all the disputes within the legal framework."
In Yaraliev's opinion, the RD's officials have no right to make comments on the enacted decision of the Court.
"Neither President of Dagestan nor the Chairman of the Republic's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) are the parties in the case. They have nothing to do with what happened. The claim had been presented to the territorial and precinct electoral commissions of Derbent, and to the Mayor of the city, who - for some reason - keep silent. But the comments are given by the President of the RD and the CEC Chairman. I think they're obviously exceeding their service powers and actually interfere with execution of justice, at the same time discrediting the 'Edinaya Rossiya' Party," states Yaraliev.
