Georgian Central Election Commission secretary was beaten up in Tbilisi

Three unidentified attackers have brutally beaten up Gogi Mikanadze, secretary of the Georgian Central Election Commission and a member of the pro-government party "Union of Citizens". The incident happened near Mikanadze's home in Tbilisi late on Friday.

"Gogi Mikanadze suffered an attack by political opposition members, as he possesses specific evidence confirming the fact that the opposition parties were involved in the falsification the voting lists," Irakly Gogava, a leader of the pro-government election bloc "For New Georgia", told the press.

The Tbilisi district police informed that the attackers had only seized a key to a safe from Mikanadze, although he also had about 500 US dollars and two mobile phones, which remained untouched. The police have already detained one of the suspects.
