Series of seminars aimed at revelation of problems of national minorities is to be carried out with assistance of Council of Europe
The seminar "Educational and Cultural Guarantees of Self-Preservation of National Minorities" has taken place in Yerevan the other day. It was devoted to the problems of the national school existing today, as well as to the difficulties of getting higher education by representatives of national minorities. The seminar was arranged by the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) with the assistance of the Council of Europe.
Olga Bagdasarian, a representative of the Assirian community, and Knyaz Gasanov, a representative of the Kurd community, told the seminar participants about problems which their communities are faced with.
ACNIS Executive Director Hrach Kakobian claimed that one of the seminar goals was to reveal problems of national minorities living in Armenia. A series of seminars devoted to the problems of national minorities is planned to be carried out with the assistance of the Council of Europe.
