Householders in Imereti Lowland hamper geologists' work in the site of would-be stadium

The residents of the Imereti Lowland, whose real estate is subject to alienation, doubt the legality of the actions of the authorities. They believe that the Central Stadium could be constructed without touching their houses and land plots.

However, executives of the Olympic Project assert that all their actions, starting from the procedures of appraising and alienating the property and up to geology prospecting work, had lawful character.

In confirmation of their words, officials of the State Corporation "Olympstroy" and the Krasnodar Territorial Department for Enforcing Olympic Authorities presented, at the meeting with Imereti residents, respective documents, which, nevertheless, could not shake the stand of local residents.

Geology specialists started their work several days ago. Local residents obstructed the works under the motive that nobody had coordinated the works with them and discussed the issues of resettlement.

The owners of 18 households to be alienated for the state needs for construction of the Central Stadium refuse to abandon their houses, asserting that the "Olympstroy" has no lawful grounds to erect the sports palace in their lands.
