Chechen refugees staying on Georgian territory can not elect president
Chechen refugees staying on the territory of Georgia would not take part in the Chechen presidential elections on October 5, announced Russian Minister for Chechnya's Affairs Stanislav Ilyasov.
"Georgian legislation does not provide for opening of polling stations for refugees, therefore Chechen refugees can not take part in the Chechen presidential elections," the minister explained speaking at the press conference in Tbilisi.
According to Ilyasov's data, about 2,000 Chechen refugees are on the Georgian territory today.
