Abkhazia chooses talisman and logo of World Dominoes Championship

The contest has been summed in Abkhazia for the logo and talisman of the 7th World Dominoes Championship, which the republic will host this autumn.

It was demanded that the talisman should reflect national and cultural peculiarities of Abkhazia and arouse positive emotions.

In total, about 70 works were sent to the contest, the "Apsnypress" reports. The website of the NTK TV Company adds that only citizens of Abkhazia were eligible for the contest.

"The idea of the best logo belongs to Akhra Bzhaniya; it was developed by Kama Katsiya. It depicts the continents united in a domino chip," said Arthur Gabuniya, President of the Federation of Dominoes of Abkhazia.

"The talisman of the championship will look like a domino chip with an image of a boy dressed in national costume. His name is Chick. The author of the talisman is Daut Logua, a student of one of Rostov higher schools," said Rafael Ampar, Chairman of the State Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports.

The authors of the talisman and logo will receive 500 US dollars each.
