Georgia: imprisoned Tsotne Gamsakhurdia is on hunger strike again

The son of first Georgian president Zviad Gamsakhurdia - Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, who is serving his sentence on charges of a premeditated murder attempt, has gone on hunger strike after the prison authorities did not allow him to receive medication from his relatives. This was reported by Keti Bekauri, his advocate.

"The medical staff did not allow Tsotne's family members to pass medicines over to him. The prison administration explained that the medicines were outside the appointed treatment. Tsotne then voiced his protest and said that he goes on hunger strike," said the lawyer. According to Ms Bekauri, besides, she was not allowed to talk to her client; the administration officials drove her out of the building, the "News-Georgia" reports.
