In Chechnya, FC "Terek" cancels contract with Ruud Gullit

The top managers of the Football Club (FC) "Terek" from Grozny FC Terek believe that head coach Ruud Gullit failed to cope with his duties.

Earlier, the head of the republic and President of the FC "Terek" Ramzan Kadyrov had set a task for the team to beat the FC "Amkar" from Perm in the visiting match of the 13th round of Russian football championship, saying that otherwise Gullit will be dismissed.

The today's match "Amkar"-"Terek" in Perm ended with the score 1:0 in favour of the Perm club. In the 90th minute of the game, the "Terek" defender Sergey Omelyanchuk scored an own goal, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

"Gullit will no longer coach the 'Terek'. Unfortunately, he failed to prove himself as a coach. With him as the head coach the team has very poor results this season," the "Interfax" quotes Mr Kadyrov as saying.

"We had hoped that Gullit was eyeing the players and that he would make corrections. But all our hopes were in vain; and now we have to abandon his services," he added.
