Oleg Shein, being on hunger strike in Astrakhan, feels bad and cannot meet local residents
Oleg Shein, the participant of the hunger strike in Astrakhan, the ex-candidate for the position of City Mayor, fell bad, and for that reason he was unable to meet local residents. This was reported by Dmitry Gudkov, the deputy of the State Duma from the faction of the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia) Party.
According to Dmitry Gudkov, Oleg Shein, who has been on hunger strike for 27 days already, is conscious. He refused hospitalization and went back to the headquarters of the hunger-strikers, the "Interfax" reports.
Alexander Zhilkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region, offers Oleg Shein, the participant of the hunger strike in Astrakhan, the ex-candidate for the position of City Mayor, a position in the administration. "I do not exclude the possibility that Shein can work with me at my institutions. I announced all offers that I could," the "Rosbalt" quotes Alexander Zhilkin as saying.
At the same time, the Governor emphasized that he treats the activist of the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" Party as his associate and a politician helpful for the region, the "Gazeta.ru" reports.
In case if the state of Oleg Shein's health becomes truly threatening, Alexander Zhilkin declared that he was ready even to go to the headquarters of the protesters to feed the opposition activists out of his hands.
Oleg Shein announced his rejection of the proposal, made by the Governor, an hour later, when he delivered a speech to journalists in the square near the monument to Kirov, which in recent days had become a gathering place for his supporters.
"I understand that here, the Zhilkin family, apparently, got used to decide everything in such a manner that everything can be bought due an official position. They cannot buy me for a position," said Oleg Shein. "The meaning of hunger strike of me and my associates is not to employ me. The meaning of the hunger strike is to return freedom to the city."
Commenting on the advices to appeal to court, announced by Alexander Zhilkin and Vladimir Putin, Oleg Shein said that he had prepared a lawsuit long time ago; however, he will file the lawsuit only when he receives video records from electoral precincts.
He believes that could happen this Friday. On Thursday, a courier of the "Rostelecom" with hard drives filled with video records should arrive in Astrakhan. According to Oleg Shein, the hunger strike will continue even after appeal to court.
