Combined team of Armenia became three-time Olympic champion in chess
On September, 9, men's combined team of Armenia won in the 40th Chess Olympics that finished in Istanbul. So, Armenia became three-time Olympic champion and won the first prize in the competition.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that 158 combined teams participated in the Championship. Gabriel Sarkisyn, Levon Aronyan, Tigran Petrosyan and Sergey Movsesyan played for the Armenian combined team.
In the last tour the combined team of Armenia beat Hungary 2.5 to 1.5 and gaining 19 scores shared the first place with Russia. By supplementary scores the Armenian team was acknowledged champion.
The Armenian team first won a bronze medal in 1992 in the World Olympics in Manila and twice became champion: in 2006 and 2008.
