In Sochi, Cossack Uchkurov is excluded from Cossack community after his statements on identification of participants of incident with "Pussy Riot"

In Sochi, Cossack Grigory Uchkurov has stated that on the video record, he had identified Nikolai Kuts, Ataman of the Central District Cossack Community of Sochi, among participants with the incident with the "Pussy Riot" that occurred on February 19. On February 25, Grigory Uchkurov was expelled from the Kuban Cossack Army.

Let us remind you that on February 19, the members of the "Pussy Riot" band and the members of the art group "War" declared that in Sochi, they were attacked by Cossacks, who sprayed tear gas and beat them with whips at the moment when they tried to shoot a video clip.

According Grigory Uchkurov, he has identified an elderly man in civilian clothes, who can be seen in the video record, as Nikolai Kuts, Ataman of the Central District Cossack Community of Sochi, and he also knows the names of the other Cossacks who took part in the incident. Grigory Uchkurov is indignant about the fact that Ataman Nikolai Kuts did not prevent the incident.

Nikolai Kuts himself denies his presence at the scene of the incident with the "Pussy Riot". Regarding the presence of the Cossacks on February 19 at the place where the members of the "Pussy Riot" planned to shoot the video clip, Ataman Nikolai Kuts told the "Caucasian Knot", correspondent that on that very day "the Cossacks were guarding public order from American provocateurs."

It should be noted that earlier, Nikolai Kuts has acknowledged that he appealed to the Prosecutors' Office to protest against the visit of the "Pussy Riot" to Sochi, since, in his opinion, the women from the punk band arrived in Sochi "to provoke and over-boost a scandal."

At present, policemen carry out the investigation into three complaints filed on the fact that the women had been beaten by the Cossacks. The complaints demand to bring the guilty persons to justice. This was reported by advocate Alexander Popkov.
