Dagestan: Makhachkala resident reports kidnapping of her husband

Zarema Ashurbekova, a resident of Makhachkala, reports on the disappearance of her husband Khanmirza Ashurbekov. The woman fears that he might have been kidnapped. She has appealed for help to the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy).

"Last time, I spoke with my husband Khanmirza Allakhverdievich Ashurbekov, born in 1976, a resident in Makhachkala, on June 9, at 11:30 a.m. 15 minutes after that call, he was to be at home to pick up the child and to take him to his grandmother. However, my husband never returned home, and both his mobile phones are switched off," Zarema Ashurbekova states in her appeal filed to the DRPO "Pravozaschita".

As at 11:00 p.m. of June 9, the whereabouts of Khanmirza Ashurbekov has not been revealed. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by staff of the DRPO. According to Aisha Selimkhanova, an activist of the organization, Khanmirza Ashurbekov is a religious man.
