Volgograd organization of Director of the Georgian-Russian Forum of NCOs recognized as foreign agent
The Youth Centre for Consulting and Training under the supervision of Temur Kobaliya, Director of the Georgian-Russian Forum of non-profit organizations (NPOs), has been considered as a "foreign agent" at the demand of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) of the Volgograd Region.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20 in Volgograd, at the roundtable of NPO activists, Temur Kobaliya said that his above Youth Centre may be recognized to be a "foreign agent".
This recognition has to do with the fact that in 2012 Kobaliya was elected to the post of the Director of the Georgian-Russian Forum of NPOs (addition of the "Caucasian Knot", made at 2:07 p.m. on January 2, 2015: instituted) by the Georgian Cooperation Forum “GPForum”.
Kobaliya is sure that the decision in respect of his Centre was made in violation of the Russian legislation. According to the protocol, Kobaliya "was engaged in political activities outside the territory of the Volgograd Region."
According to his story, he has applied for legal aid to the Human Rights Resource Centre in Saint Petersburg.
In the opinion of Olga Kozak, the head of the Volgograd city public organization "Klub Delovoe Povolzhye” (Volga Region Business Club), the situation around the Youth Centre looks like a PR campaign: the Centre failed to hold any meaningful events within the last year.
