Chechnya: resident of Urus-Martan District accused of aiding militants

In Chechnya, the case of Magomed-Emin Baimurzaev, a resident of the Urus-Martan District, accused of aiding members of illegal armed formations (IAFs), has been sent to the court.

As reported by a source from the Investigating Department for Chechnya of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), in summer of 2014, Baimurzaev helped his close friend, who is on the federal wanted list.

"It has been established that last June Baimurzaev provided information about the travels of power agents and supplied food to his close friend, an active IAF member. The court will now define the gravity of his guilt and pass an appropriate decision," an investigator told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, the helper was detained during the operative-search activities and confessed of the incriminated offense. The criminal case was opened under Part 5, Article 33, and Part 2, Article 208, of the Russian Criminal Code.

Let us remind you that in September 2014 a resident of Grozny District of Chechnya was sentenced to one year in a colony-settlement on a similar charge.
