Resident of Ingushetia Magomed Aushev released under recognizance not to leave
Magomed Aushev, who was detained in Ingushetia on suspicion of shooting at the wedding party and hospitalized after interrogations, has been released from the SIZO (pre-trial prison) under recognizance not to leave. It is reported by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, 2014, Magomed Aushev, a resident of the village of Ekazhevo, was detained on suspicion of shooting in the wedding convoy. After detention, Aushev was tortured, his brother said. During the court session on December 22, he lost consciousness and was hospitalized in grave condition. On January 10, Aushev was discharged from the hospital, and then was transferred to the SIZO, although, according to his relatives, he still needed doctors' care.
On January 16, Aushev was visited by members of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of Ingushetia. He did not express any complaints about the custody conditions; however, he complained of pain in his kidneys, and admitted that he suffers from constant headaches and had not fully restored his memory. After the visit of POC members, Magomed Aushev was given some medical help.
