Nemtsov: contract for Kadyrov's loyalty to Putin hearing its end

The Russian oppositional politician Boris Nemtsov, who was shot dead last night in Moscow, had systematically sharply criticized the actions of the Chechen leadership. He stressed that Ramzan Kadyrov's power in the region is violent in nature and is supported by huge financial subsidies.

On December 28, 2014, Nemtsov criticized the actions of Kadyrov, who organized a public gathering of his armed units at a stadium in Grozny.

In May 2014, Boris Nemtsov sent a letter to Alexander Bortnikov, the head of the Russian Federal Security Bureau (FSB), asking him to check the messages about the crossing of the Russian-Ukrainian border by armed men, who, in his opinion, were Chechen power agents controlled by the FSB.

Earlier Nemtsov also criticized Kadyrov's statements denying any organized participation of Chechen special units in the warfare in Donbas.

On January 30, 2011, Kadyrov stated on Russian national television that some opposition leaders, including Nemtsov, should be sent to prison, in order not to repeat the riots, like in December 2010 in Manege Square in Moscow.

In response, Nemtsov treated Kadyrov as a "seriously ill person."

When on October 22, 2011, a rally was held in Bolotnaya Square under the slogan "Stop feeding the Caucasus!", Nemtsov treated this call as provocative and mobilizing both Russian and Caucasian nationalists.
