Hiding with munitions discovered in Ingush village of Surkhakhi
In the Nazran District, in the course of operative and search activities, law enforcers discovered a hiding with weapons and about 20 kilograms of explosives. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).
According to the NAC, the hiding also contained two units of anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), a machine gun, five submachine guns, more than five thousand of ammunitions of various calibres, and a lot of grenades, fuses and grenades for a tubular grenade launcher.
"According to the information available, the hiding was arranged by members of the 'Nazran' criminal grouping, neutralized by the Russian FSB in the counterterrorist operation (CTO) held on this October 12. It has been found out that the criminal grouping is involved in a number of terrorist crimes, including the killings of law enforcers and civilians. Besides, it is revealed that the militants were plotting a major terror act," the "NAC" reports as quoted by the "TASS".
About 20 kilograms of explosives could be intended for commitment of a major terror act, the "Interfax" reports with reference to a source in the NAC.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 12, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in a number of villages of the Nazran District and in the town of Karabulak. According to the law enforcement bodies, three persons were killed, and four others were detained. The CTO regime was cancelled on October 13.
