Law enforcers report on killing leader of ISIL unit in Nalchik
Today, Robert Zankishiev, the leader of the unit of the "Islamic State" (IS), has been killed during a special operation in Nalchik. This was reported by officials from the law enforcement bodies.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, in Nalchik, law enforcers have blocked a multi-storey residential building, where, according to their information, Robert Zankishiev, the leader of the local IS unit, stayed together with his Muslim wife. The woman was wounded, and she was accompanied out of the scene of the special operation.
Robert Zankishiev was on the federal wanted list on suspicion of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF). According to law enforcers, he was the leader of the Kabardino-Balkarian unit of the "Islamic State" (IS, earlier, ISIL, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia and a number of other countries, note of the "Caucasian Knot"), and he was well-known under the military nickname of "Abdulla".
Today, Robert Zankishiev has been killed during an attack on the apartment where he was hiding, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies.
None of law enforcers suffered in the course of the special operation, in which Robert Zankishiev had been killed, the "Interfax" reports with reference to an official from the law enforcement bodies.
