Fifth casualty of Volgograd explosion found

Rescuers of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) have completed their search and rescue operation under the rubble of the residential house in Volgograd, which was ruined by the explosion.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, at No. 47 in Kosmonavtov Street of Volgograd an explosion occurred, resulting in a collapse of the second flight from the second up to the ninth level. After the accident, 12 people were hospitalized, while bodies of four dead persons were found under the rubble.

"Between the sixth and the seventh levels, the fifth casualty was found. Presumably, this is the grandmother of the 25-year-old resident of the same apartment, who had been registered at the psychiatrists," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Natalia Kunitskaya, Senior Assistant to the head of the Investigating Department for the Volgograd Region of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The rescue operation is over, said Dmitry Ulanov, the head of the press service of the Chief Department for the Volgograd Region of the Russian MfE.

The health condition of four persons injured by the explosion is estimated by doctors as satisfactory, of one more – as moderate.
