Teens in Belorechensk colony try to cut their wrist veins

Three juvenile inmates of the colony located in the city of Belorechensk, Krasnodar Territory, in protest against the ban to buy cigarettes, tried to self-mutilate.

The incident occurred in the colony on December 28. The spokesman of the Territorial Prosecutor's Office said that after the conducted check the demands of young convicts were found groundless, the "Interfax-South" reports.

The check was held with the participation of representatives of the Ombudsperson for Children's Rights in the Territory and of the juvenile administration of the Belorechensk District.

The juvenile convicted were explained the norms of the current legislation, including the Russian Law "On Protecting Citizens' Health from Exposure to Tobacco Smoke and Consequences of Smoking", which prohibits sale of tobacco products to minors, as well as the consumption of tobacco by them, says the website of the Krasnodar Territorial Prosecutor's Office.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported about other incidents at the Belorechensk colony. Thus, on November 25, 2015, a criminal case was opened against employees of the colony. According to investigators, they beat up the newly arrived prisoners, including the use of special means. Six teenagers received traumas, and one of them died.
