Mufti of North Ossetia writes a book "Russia and Islam: On Attack Spearhead"

The Caucasian Geopolitical Club (CGC) has presented a collection of analytical articles and interviews of Khadjimurat Gatsalov, the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of North Ossetia. In the opinion of Yana Amelina, the editor, the book pictures the Mufti as one of the leading Russian statesmen.

On the order of the CGC, the book "Russia and Islam: On Attack Spearhead" was published by the Centre of Strategic Market Conditions.

The collection contains materials that characterize the Mufti's position on most important social and political issues; and presents his views on the situation around the SAM of North Ossetia. It is addressed to all those interested in the life of Russian Muslims, the publisher has announced.

Yana Amelina, the editor of the book, who is the CGC's coordinator, said that the presented analysis of the situation in the Middle East and Northern Caucasus is a novelty for the academic community.

"The analysis covers a wide range of geopolitical, socio-political, historical and moral problems and issues," she said.

According to Amelina, Gatsalov "was one of the first among Russian religious leaders to launch an uncompromising struggle against the spread of the ideology of the 'Islamic State' (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia."
