Passengers complain about sharp rise in cost of flights to Makhachkala
The prices of flights to Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, have more than doubled on the eve of the summer season, despite the fact that return air tickets from Makhachkala remained at the same level, airline clients report.
Anisat Yunusova, a native of Dagestan, who lives in Moscow, had planned to fly to Makhachkala in late May-early June, and faced a sharp rise of ticket prices. According to her story, a similar picture is observed every year during holidays and at the start of summer season.
The Moscow-Makhachkala flights are performed by airlines "Pobeda" (Victory), "UTair" and "Aeroflot". From May 30 to June 1 the cheapest ticket can be purchased from "Pobeda" – 11,386 roubles; at the "UTair" tickets are at 13,635 roubles; and at "Aeroflot" – at 17,243 roubles. At the same time, the same airlines sell Makhachkala-Moscow flights from 5000 roubles, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The airlines are deliberately creating agiotage, suggested Magomed Gamzatov, a resident of Dagestan, adding that the Anti-Monopoly Service should get interested in the situation.
