Investigators find extremism in Rizvan Ibragimov's books on origin of Chechens
A relative of publicist Rizvan Ibragimov, who claims in his books that Chechens are the Allah's chosen people and who is suspected of extremism, disagrees with the version voiced by investigators.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Rizvan Ibragimov and Aslambek Didiev, whose books had been criticized by Chechen theologians and public officials, were detained on April 1. On April 5, the publicists were released. However, before that they were invited to Ramzan Kadyrov, and in his residence, both the detainees brought public apologies to the scientific community and the religious figures of Chechnya.
Both publicists put forward the version that all the prophets were the ancestors of the Chechens and that the Chechen people is one of the oldest nations in the world.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by a relative of journalist that following the results of the inspection, a criminal case was instituted against Rizvan Ibragimov. The publicist's relative treats the investigators' version as unfounded.
"Rizvan is accused of extremism and incitement of ethnic and religious hatred. A criminal case was opened against him, and he is periodically summoned for questioning. Meanwhile, the investigators themselves admit the absurdity of the charges filed; however, they refer to the order 'from above'," the publicist's relative said.
