Yerevan police confirm shelling of rebels

The car with the oppositionists, who captured the building of the post-and-patrol police regiment in Yerevan, drove close to the police cordon; therefore law enforcers opened fire, wounding two of the rebels, the police has announced, asserting that there was no aimed fire at the rebels, while the latter opened the return fire.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the "Constituent Parliament", the supporters of which keep holding the above building since July 17, said that at night policemen shelled the rebels, wounding two of them, and the car of the activist, who was delivering foodstuffs to the building.

According to the police, since evening of July 25, the situation around the captured building was tense: the rebels set fire to three cars, and shooting was heard from the building.

Last night, a police with rebels drove into the territory of the captured building. It drove close to the cordon. To stop the car, policemen opened fire at the engine. The rebels turned to the left; and then policemen opened fire at the wheels. Policemen did not respond from oppositionists' fire delivered from inside the car.

There were three men in the car; two of them were wounded, the police have confirmed, the "News.am" reports.
