Social networks voice threats against participants of festival of colours in Makhachkala
Users of the Internet disseminated calls for young people from Makhachkala not to come on August 7 to a festival of colours Holi, which originated from the Hindu tradition.
One of such appeals was disseminated on Facebook by Mikail Mikailov, the chief of the department of preventive programmes and projects of the Ministry for Youth Affairs of Dagestan.
"The action 'festival of colours', planned for August 7 in Makhachkala, is a really shameful phenomenon," wrote Mikail Mikailov on Facebook.
According to authors of the appeals posted on the social network "VKontakte", the event will result in degradation of young people.
"Men and women hopping like monkeys, smeared and roaring like macaques... Dances, turmoil, mix, and embraces of men and women… I'd prefer to believe that even those guys who are involved in the event will not allow their sisters and other female relatives to take part in it," states the appeal disseminated by user Shakhban Davudov.
"If you have the pride for your ancestors and respect for them, do not go there! We are Muslims, and we should be an example of honour and not vice versa. So, please do not go there," wrote Abdulla Omarov, a user of "VKontakte".
Besides the requests with appeals not to go to the festival, some users of social networks have voiced threats against those who intend to attend the event.
"Where will it take place? I want to send a suicide bomber there," wrote one of the social network users.
"I hope all of you will be blown up there," states another user in his comments.
