Imam Velitov's bank account blocked, his advocate reports
The Sberbank of Russia has blocked the bank account of Makhmud Velitov, the chairman of the Charitable Foundation "Hilal", the Imam of a Moscow mosque. This was reported by advocate Dagir Khasavov. According to him, the Imam's pension comes to the above account.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Makhmud Velitov, the Imam of the Moscow mosque "Yardyam", was detained on July 11. Investigators treat the Imam's statement about Abdulla Gappaev, a Dagestani religious figure, as justification for terrorism.
"The bank card of my client was blocked for alleged extremist activities," said Dagir Khasavov. He has noted that the Makhmud Velitov's bank account contains about 12,000 roubles, the "TASS" reports.
On July 25, it became known that the criminal case against Makhmud Velitov was classified and that his advocate signed recognizance not to disclose the information.
Let us remind you that on July 12, the Butyrka Court of Moscow placed Makhmud Velitov under house arrest until August 27. The court decision was challenged. However, on August 2, the Moscow City Court recognized the Imam's arrest as legal. Thereafter, Dagir Khasavov has reported that the defence intends to appeal against the decision of the appeal court at the Presidium of the Moscow City Court.
