Caucasian athletes win six medals in Rio in three days
On August 12-14, athletes from Southern Russia and Southern Caucasus won three gold and three bronze medals at Olympics-2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
Athletes from the Krasnodar Territory were successful: thus, on August 13, Evgeny Tischenko, a boxer, by defeating Rustam Tulaganov from Uzbekistan, reached the final of men's boxing tournament in the weight category of 91 kg.
On August 14, Elena Vesnina from Sochi, together with her partner Ekaterina Makarova, won gold in tennis doubles. On the same day, Stefania Elfutina, a native of Yeisk, won the bronze medal in sailing among women.
On August 12, Kirill Grigoryan, an athlete of Armenian origin, won a bronze medal for Russia in shooting from a small-calibre rifle from 50 meters in the prone position.
On August 13, an Armenian Yana Egoryan won the second gold medal in fencing for the Russian team: the winner of the individual tournament, won gold in sabre fencing in the team event.
Gabriel Sinkrayan, a Romanian weightlifter of Armenian origin, won bronze in the category of 85 kg, the "Panarmenian.net" reports.
