Villagers demand to punish law enforcers for killing Gasanguseinov brothers
Gasangusein and Nabi Gasanguseinov, killed in the village of Goor-Khindakh of the Shamil District of Dagestan, had no connections with militants. The law enforcement bodies are to bear responsibility for their killing. This was stated by villagers in their open letter addressed to Vladimir Putin, the General Prosecutor's Office and the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to the law enforcement bodies, on August 23, two members of the "Shamil" grouping of militants were killed in a shootout in one of the gorges of the Shamil District. According to sources, local residents were allowed to pick up the bodies of the killed Gasanguseinov brothers only after a protest action held in front of the police station. According to the villagers, the killed brothers were shepherds.
The open letter written by jamaat of the village of Goor-Khindakh was disseminated in Instagram by the public organization "Youth of Shamil District". According to the open letter, the villagers were shocked by the killing of 20-year-old Gasangusein and 17-year-old Nabi Gasanguseinov.
The authors of the open letter emphasize that the young people never left the village and "tried to earn money by honest work."
According to the villagers, none of the natives of Goor-Khindakh was ever put on the wanted list and or preventively registered at the police station.
The jamaat of the village of Goor-Khindakh calls on the ICRF, the General Prosecutor's Office and Russian President Vladimir Putin "to take personal control over the murders and punish the persons guilty of killing the innocent young people."
