Abdulatipov instructs Prosecutor's Office to supervise Gasanguseinovs' case

After receiving appeals from relatives and fellow villagers of the Gasanguseinov brothers, killed by power agents in the Shamil District, the proceedings have been launched, which is conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office, Ramazan Abdulatipov, the head of Dagestan, has announced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to law enforcers, on August 23, during a shootout in one of mountain gorges of the Shamil District, two militants, later identified as Gasangusein and Nabi Gasanguseinov, residents of the village of Goor-Khindakh, were killed. Fellow villagers of the brothers have stated that they were ordinary shepherds and were killed by mistake. Villagers sent appeals to the authorities demanding to punish the power agents involved.

A response appeal of Ramazan Abdulatipov to residents of Dagestan about the special operation in the Shamil District has been posted today on his page in the Instagram.

"Relatives and fellow villagers of the casualties deny any possibility of brothers' involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs); some mass media have also questioned the information of law enforcement bodies. The case is being investigated," says the Abdulatipov's statement, which concludes: "Please be patient; all those who have doubts will receive an answer."
