Reuters: Usman Murdalov's fellow villagers report about his plans to go to Germany

Usman Murdalov, a resident of Chechnya, who was killed while attacking inspectors of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) in the Moscow Region, had planned to join his family members, who had earlier moved to Germany. This was reported by relatives and friends of Usman Murdalov.

On August 17, two young men, armed with axes, attacked DPS inspectors on the 20th kilometre of Schelkovo highway in the vicinity of the town of Balashikha. As a result, two policemen were injured. The attackers were killed. They were identified as Usman Murdalov and Sulim Israilov, natives of Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Usman Murdalov and Sulim Israilov were never brought to police stations and left Chechnya two days before the attack on the DPS checkpoint in Balashikha. They have assured their family members that they are going to Moscow to find a job.

Usman Murdalov has repeatedly voiced his intention to go to Germany to join his father and foster mother, who moved there three months earlier. He has got a foreign passport, but he still did not get a visa, the Reuters reports on August 31 with reference to one of the Usman Murdalov's relatives.

According to a resident of the Chechen village of Valerik, a neighbour of Usman Murdalov, the parents of the young man arrived in Germany illegally through Poland. Meanwhile, the villagers were unable to explain why Usman Murdalov changed his plans to move to Western Europe, the Reuters reports.
