Putting journalist Idris Yusupov on preventive registration list caused resonance in social networks

During his trip to Moscow, Idris Yusupov, a Dagestani journalist of the edition "Novoye Delo", was three times stopped by power agents at check posts, and learned from them that now he is on the so-called "prophylactic record" (preventive registration list). Users of social networks expressed their support to the journalist and criticized the practice of putting natives of the Caucasus into this record.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Dagestan they are actively using the practice of putting residents of the republic to the preventive registration list. Rights defenders point out that often it is done with no valid reasons, for example, because a man has a beard or goes to the mosque.

The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has prepared instructions for the people included by the police in the preventive registration lists. A manual compiled by lawyers includes detailed comments and examples of appeals to be filed to the Ministry Internal Affairs (MIA) and courts.

Idris Yusupov learnt of being "on the record" on September 11, when policemen in Dagestan stopped him on his way to Moscow.

On September 15, Idris posted the message about "recording" and checks on the way to Moscow on his page in the Facebook. It has 52 comments, 222 "Likes" and 112 reposts already.

"I feel that soon they'll register babies in the womb as extremists because of their excessive activeness," Lyudmila Magomedova, a journalist of the "Chernovik", wrote in her comment.
