Armenian police receive 119 reports on violations at elections

The law enforcement authorities are engaged in checking 116 out of 119 reports on violations committed during the elections to the local self-government bodies in Armenia. Law enforcers have announced the institution of two criminal cases.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 18, 22 communities held voting at the elections of community leaders, and 80 communities the elections of members of councils of elders. 125 communities held voting at the elections both of community leaders and members of councils of elders. At the elections held in the regions, candidates from the Republican Party won or were re-elected, and only in Ashtarak, a non-party candidate won the elections.

Earlier, activists of the initiative "Citizen Observer" have reported that they registered 130 violations during the voting. In turn, the General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia reported on more than 200 reports of violations received from agents of the media, public organizations, and citizens.
