In Georgia, "UNM" Party claims mass violations at elections

According to the opposition "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, the second round of voting at the parliamentary elections was held in atmosphere of intimidation and with use of various mechanisms of falsification.

Let us remind you that on October 30, inGeorgia, 50 electoral districts held the second round of the parliamentary elections from single-seat electoral districts. The "Georgian Dream" Party claimed victory in 49 out of 50 electoral districts.

During the voting, the "UNM" Party reported on violations committed at polling stations, mass cases of "roundabouts", ballot stuffing, and beating of an activist. The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia has reported on 131 complaints received on the voting day.

"Unfortunately, the authorities have decided to hold the second round of the elections in the similar way like the first one in the atmosphere of violence and intimidation and with the use of various mechanisms of falsification. The second round of the elections failed to bring changes to secure the elections to be assessed as free and fair. Despite that fact, we will continue our fight," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Salome Samadashvili, a member of the "UNM" Party.
