Georgian singer wins Junior Eurovision 2016
At the Junior Eurovision 2016 Song Contest, held today in Malta, the 10-year-old Mariam Mamadashvili became a winner with the song "Mzeo" (Sun). The second place went to a duo from Armenia.
The young singer from Georgia gained 239 points. The Armenian duo of Mary Vardanyan and Anait Adamyan, who performed the song "Tarber" (Different Ones) won the second place with 232 points. The third place went to Fiamma Boccia, a singer from Italy, with 209 points. In the final of the song contest, Russia was represented by the project "Living Water", which occupied the fourth place.
The winner of the Junior Eurovision 2016 wrote her song for the contest in collaboration with Giorgi Kukhianidze, a well-known Georgian composer. In early October, the young singer won the contest of the Public TV of Georgia, held to choose a representative of the country for the Junior Eurovision 2016.
