Court of appeal upholds verdict in case on riots at Makhachkala airport
The court of appeal refused to grant the appeals filed against the verdicts to five men convicted in the case on riots at the airport in Makhachkala.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 23, the Armavir City Court sentenced Anvarbek Ataev, Islam Ibragimov, Magomed Omaraskhabov, Rabadan Radjabov, and Salik Ramazanov to terms of imprisonment ranging from six years and four months to nine years. The court pronounced harsh sentences without evidence of the defendants’ participation in the riots, advocates and relatives of the convicted persons stated.
The panel of judges of the Krasnodar Territorial Court considered the appeals lodged against the sentences of Anvarbek Ataev, Islam Ibragimov, Magomed Omaraskhabov, Salik Ramazanov, and Rabadan Radjabov.
“The court of appeal found no grounds for changing the sentence, recognizing it as legal and fair,” the united press service for the courts of the Krasnodar Territory reported on its Telegram channel.
