Talekh Bagirzade placed in isolation ward of Baku SIZO

On November 26, Talekh Bagirzade was placed in a punishment cell for a period of five days. This has been told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Yalchin Imanov, an advocate of Talekh Bagirzade.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Talekh Bagirzade is involved in the so-called "Nardaran case", which is being considered by the court in Baku starting from on August 3. The prisoners' dock contains Talekh Bagirzade and 17 other people. All defendants plead not guilty. They have claimed that they confessed to the crime under torture.

According to the advocate, the SIZO (pre-trial prison) administration accused Talekh Bagirzade of "violating the internal order."

Meanwhile, Yalchin Imanov believes that Talekh Bagirzade is actually punished for his critical article on the first anniversary of the special operation in Nardaran, published on the website of the newspaper "Azadliq" on November 24.

Yalchin Imanov has emphasized the illegality of the actions applied against Talekh Bagirzade. The advocate has also voiced his intention to reflect the above fact in a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

Full text of the article is available on the Russian page of 24/7 Internet agency ‘Caucasian Knot’.
