Azerbaijani police question columnist of "Yeni Musavat" about his post on Facebook

On November 28, employees of the Baku Chief Police Department summoned Zamin Gadji, the columnist of the "Yeni Musavat" newspaper, for questioning. Policemen were alarmed with his publication on his page in the Facebook, in which he protested against the absence of the inquiry into resonant crimes. This was told by Gadji himself to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the columnist, he was blamed for his November 23 publication on the Facebook dedicated to another anniversary of the death of journalist Rafig Tagi.

"A lot of resonant crimes, including the murders of Academician Ziya Bunyadov (killed in February 1996); Rail Rzaev, the Air Force Commander (killed in February 2009); the journalist Elmar Guseinov (killed in March 2005); and the writer-publicist Rafig Tagi (killed in November 2011), still remain unsolved; and nobody has been punished for that. How can we talk about any stability and statehood in the country, where such crimes remain unpunished?" Mr Gadji asked rhetorically.

According to his story, policemen have stated that "stability reigns" in the country.

"I was told that I throw a shadow on the political stability in the country; and this is unacceptable. I gave arguments in defence of my position; and that was the end of the talk," said Zamin Gadji.
