Eyewitness describes circumstances of incident at Ali-Yurt mosque

A native of Chechnya, detained by believers of the mosque of Ali-Yurt, has confessed to his involvement in the planned attempt on Ingush preacher Isa Tsechoev, the imam of the mosque. This was reported by a supporter of the religious figure.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 13, a source from the Muslim community of the village of Ali-Yurt told a correspondent about prevention of an assassination attempt on Islamic preacher Isa Tsechoev. Believers brought the detained suspect to the police. However, the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) does not confirm the information.

According to a supporter of the imam, before being brought to the police station, the man was questioned by relatives of the religious figure, and his questioning was recorded on video. The source has explained that the believers' suspicion was caused by the behaviour of the stranger.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement authorities deny the very fact of the incident at the mosque.
