Ramzan Kadyrov's countryman appointed Chairman of Chechen Constitutional Court

The candidacy of the 63-year-old Vakha Nasukhanov for the position of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Chechen Republic has been proposed by the leader of Chechnya. Local MPs have unanimously supported the appointment of Vakha Nasukhanov.

"At the session held on December 22, MPs approved Vakha Nasukhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament, to the position of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the ChechenRepublic. His candidacy was supported unanimously," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the administration of the leader and the Parliament of the Chechen Republic.

The position of the Chairman of the Chechen Constitutional Court has been vacant since late October, when Islam Baikhanov, the former head of the Chechen Constitutional Court, was appointed the Minister of Property and Land Relations.

In 1970, Vakha Nasukhanov graduated from the secondary school in the village of Tsentaroi of the Kurchaloi District, a native village of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. In 2001, Vakha Nasukhanov was appointed an advisor to the chief of the law enforcement temporary administration of the ChechenRepublic, and in the summer of 2003, he was appointed to the position of the Advisor to the President of the ChechenRepublic. In the period from 2005 to 2013, Vakha Nasukhanov worked as the chief of the Gudermes District administration. In 2013, he became an MP of the Chechen Parliament and was re-elected this September, reports an official of the administration of the leader and the Parliament of the Chechen Republic.
