Advisor to head of Chechnya calls rally in Grozny to abandon blood feud

At the rally at the mosque "Heart of Chechnya" in Grozny, Adam Shakhidov, an adviser to the head of the republic, has called to forgive relatives of the militants, killed during a special operation in Grozny. The opinions of the participants of the rally have diverged.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 17, in Grozny, several attacks on policemen were committed; and the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia, claimed responsibility for them. It was reported that seven suspected militants were killed and four others were detained.

Power agents began detaining pretty many relatives and friends of those killed. One of the women-relatives said that men of her family left Grozny for remote villages in fear of the declared blood feud.

The rally with the participation of relatives of killed policemen and militants, representatives of their clans, elders and theologians, has brought together several thousand people.

Some relatives of the killed policemen are ready to forgive; others spoke in favour of blood feud. So far, no consensus has been reached.
