Two Russian skiers are candidates for deprivation of Sochi-2014 medals

In January, the Russian skiers Alexander Legkov and Maxim Vylegzhanin will be deprived of medals of the Winter Olympic Games-2014 in Sochi, media report with reference to sources from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 9, Richard McLaren presented the second part of his report on the falsifications of doping tests in Russia. According to the report, the assays of at least 12 medallists of the Olympics-2014 inSochi had been opened for replacement; and in assays of two women-athletes the male DNA was found. Officially, no names of athletes under suspicion were disclosed; but the IOC announced a re-examination of all the doping assays of Russian athletes, who took part in the Winter Olympic Games-2010 and -2014, as well as in Summer Olympic Games-2012 inLondon.

Legkov and Vylegzhanin are mentioned in the report of the independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), headed by Richard McLaren. Both athletes are suspected of both using illicit drugs and fraud with doping assays, the "Lenta.ru" wrote on January 2 with reference to the Finnish edition "Iltalehti".

"In January, Olympic medals will be taken away from Legkov and Vylegzhanin," said an IOC source of the Finnish edition.
