Employees of "Nairit" Factory demand open discussion of their problems by Parliament

Employees of the "Nairit" Factory in Armenia have called on political parties to unite and solve the problems of the enterprise. They demand to urgently raise the "Nairit" issue and openly discuss it at Parliament with participation of workers of the factory.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 28, 2016, the Yerevan court satisfied the lawsuit of the "Electric Grids of Armenia" and declared the "Nairit" bankrupt. The workers accused the authorities of disrupting the tender on restarting the factory.

"It's high time to prove not in words, but in deeds, that you are really concerned about the development of the national economy," says the workers' statement. According to their story, the factory workers have become an example for other groups, which are fighting for their rights.

"Nairit" workers note that "despite the government's opposition, they managed to achieve payment of their salary debts" and to delay the bankruptcy process by 1.5 years. They had been seeking the repayment of salary debts since 2011.

Besides, according to the workers' statement, a number of specialists continue working at the factory. Also, agreements have been reached with the European Holding about investment programmes aimed at reviving the factory.
