Yerevan: three "Sasna Tsrer" supporters sentenced to prison term

Today, the court of general jurisdiction of the Yerevan districts Kentron and Nork-Marash has sentenced Arsen Mkrtumyan, Gagik Mikaelyan and Soso Margaryan to three years in prison each, finding them guilty of using violence against policemen during riots in Yerevan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 28, 2016, the above three pled guilty and asked the court to treat them in the accelerated regime, said Ani Chatinyan, their advocate.

On July 17, 2016, an armed detachment "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sasun) from among supporters of the "Constituent Parliament", captured the building of the police regiment of the patrol-and-post service (PPS) in Yerevan. On July 20, 2016, power agents refused to pass foodstuffs over to the capturers; and clashes broke out of demonstrators with policemen in Khorenatsi Street. According to law enforcers, 136 people were detained at dispersal of the protest.

Today, the above court has found Arsen Mkrtumyan, Gagik Mikaelyan and Soso Margaryan guilty, and sentenced each of them to three years of freedom deprivation, the “NEWS.am” reports.
