Two Chechens detained in Austria face deportation

All 22 natives of Chechnya detained in Austria sought refugee status. Two of them left under arrest are refused of asylum, and they face deportation. In Austria, many Chechen refugees have failed to integrate into the local society, and appearance of their names in the criminal chronicle is of high interest to local media.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3, 22 natives of Chechnya were detained in Vienna. According to local media, the detainees were checked for involvement in terrorist activities. Twenty people were released on recognizance not to leave, while two others were left in custody.

After the murder of Israilov, the Chechen Diaspora has long been under close media attention, and all cases of appearance of Chechens in crime reports acquires the significance of national news, accompanied by negative comments, the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" reports.

According to the newspaper, there are about 30,000 people from Chechnya in Austria. However, about half of Chechen migrants receive an allowance of 900-1250 euros per person. About 5000 people are registered at the labour market to become hired employees.

Two or three years ago, there were groupings of Chechen young men in Vienna, who were engaged in petty thefts and acts of robbery, the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" reports.

More serious problems were created for the Austrian law-enforcement bodies by recruiters and volunteers who go to fight in Iraq and Syria on the side of the "Islamic State" (IS), banned in the Russian Federation.
