In Tbilisi, two transgender women hospitalized after attack on them

In Tbilisi, two transgender women injured in an attack get medical treatment at the hospital. They were seriously injured. This was reported by Giorgi Tatishvili, the leader of the Centre for Transgender Women.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 7, in Tbilisi, ten men armed with clubs and knives attacked four transgender women, including Ioanna, Amanda, Luba, and Makouna.

Two victims got fractures of their bones, and two others got knife wounds, reports Georgy Tatishvili.

He has added that the victims filed complaints to the police and identified several attackers. However, despite the above fact, the police did not immediately launch institution of criminal proceedings. The criminal case was initiated after the Centre for Transgender Women had filed a complaint to the Prosecutor's Office and local media.

Earlier, the "Sputnik-Georgia" has reported the version voiced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), according to which the transgender women were in state of alcoholic intoxication and refused to go to police station for questioning.
