Defence of detained natives of Dagestan asserts that ammunition was planted on them

The Tagibekov brothers, natives of Dagestan, were detained on suspicion of illicit dealing with ammunition, after a search of their rented apartment in a Moscow suburb. According to the suspects and their relatives, the ammunition was planted in their apartment, the advocate of one of the brothers told the "Caucasian Knot".

The 27-year-old Ruslan and the 26-year-old Tarlan Tagibekov were detained on February 8 after a search of their rented apartment in the settlement of Besedy, Leninsky District of the Moscow Region, said Sophia Rubasskaya, the advocate of Ruslan Tagibekov.

According to her story, now the detainees are kept at the Leninsky ROVD (District Interior Division) of the Moscow Region in the town of Vidnoye.

The court session on their freedom restriction measure was postponed until February 13. The defence intends to assert the illegality of Tagibekovs’ detention.

"Relatives and the brothers themselves explain that the items found at the search had been planted on them because they are Muslims," Ms Rubasskaya said, adding that no violence was applied to her client after the detention.

The Tagibekov brothers are natives of the Lezgin village of Oruzhba, Magaramkent District of Dagestan, said the wife of one of the detainees.
