Blogger Alexander Lapshin visited by his mother and new advocate

Blogger Alexander Lapshin, extradited from Belarus and kept at the Baku SIZO (pre-trial prison), was visited by his mother. Besides, at the SIZO, he was also visited by his new advocate hired by his family members. This was reported by the law enforcement bodies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3, Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, stated that the country had no reason to refuse in extradition of Alexander Lapshin to Azerbaijan.

Alexander Lapshin is a citizen of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Israel. Azerbaijan accuses him of visits to Nagorno-Karabakh, which the Azerbaijani authorities treat as its occupied territory, and also of public statements in support of the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The new defender has already met Alexander Lapshin at the first Baku SIZO, where he is being kept. The advocate has inquired about the conditions of his client's detention and state of health. The blogger voiced no complaints, the agency "Trend" reports.

Bella Lapshina, the mother of the blogger, has signed a contract with advocate Eduard Chernin, the "Sputnik of Azerbaijan" reports.
