OSCE Minsk Group urges Azerbaijan and Armenia to negotiate

The Karabakh conflict has no military solution; and its parties should mark the anniversary of the April 2016 battles not at the frontline, but at the negotiation table, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group have stated at today’s press conference in Baku.

The co-chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Richard Hoagland (USA) and Stefan Visconti (France) arrived in Azerbaijan on March 10.

"We held a very important meeting in Baku with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev, as well as detailed discussions with the Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov," Richard Hoagland said at the press conference.

According to his story, the main co-chairs’ message was the importance of the return of the parties to the negotiation table. "We stressed that the anniversary of the April 2016 battles should be marked not at the frontline, but at the negotiation table." The states-co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group believe that the Karabakh conflict has no military solution. Next week, we, the co-chairs, will bring this message to the leadership of Armenia," Mr Hoagland has stressed.
